Bio
I grew up in Victoria, BC, and moved to Quebec City when I was 20, and again when I was 26, and again when I was 30. As I wrote in an essay, I can’t extricate my patient emigration to this city and appropriation of this language from the process of becoming a translator; they are one and the same.
I love finding Quebec authors with striking voices and the arduous collaborative process of bringing these voices into English. I also do varied translation work in the arts and other fields.
Traducteur littéraire, je me consacre depuis dix ans aux œuvres d’autrices et d’auteurs québécois. Je suis constamment à la recherche de textes frappants, à la voix singulière, auxquels je pourrai insuffler une deuxième vie en anglais. Je collabore également avec différents organismes pour la traduction de contenus culturels et artistiques, en privilégiant les relations à long terme.
Natif de Victoria, en Colombie-Britannique, je réside depuis de nombreuses années à Québec. L’amour que je porte à mon quartier, à ma ville et à ma langue d’adoption est à l’origine de mon parcours professionnel.
